The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that relies on the generosity of its riders and sponsors.
How We’re Funded
Since McKinney Avenue Transit Authority is not a government agency, the M-LINE is supported through a combination of private and public support
- Name Your Fare: We allow riders to name their price for rides by dropping cash or coins the fare box.
- Charters: We rent out our trolleys as special charters for children’s birthday parties, dinner parties, company parties and private parties.
- Sponsorships & Donations: Other income comes from sponsorships, advertising on the trolleys, endowments, individual donations from the public, and membership fees.
- Public Support: The M-LINE receives funding from a Shuttle-Agreement with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) as well as yearly donations from the Uptown and Downtown Public Improvement Districts (PIDs).
